SOLVED: Replacement Fitbit One arrived dead? How long to give it?

When my original Fitbit One arrived, it had enough of charge (~20%) to set it up . The replacement I recevied today arrived with zero charge. Even though it has been plugged into my laptop for an hour or more, I can't get it to turn on. 

 

Suggestions?

 

Also, I assume I can preserve the data on my dead One? It's only 4 weeks, but I'd hate to lose it.

OMG what an idiot. I held down the on button and it powered up.
