Should my fitbit one count my leg shaking as steps?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I seem to end up with many more steps than i think I am actually taking.

I tend to shake my leg when i'm sitting and my fitbit one is in my pants pocket.

Is it possible the fitbit is counting the leg movement as steps?

I suppose i could take it out of my pocket when im sitting and test this.

When I try shaking my leg on purpose and watching to see if my step count goes up I don't notice a change.  Maybe its a case of a pot not boiling that you watch! ?

@johninak Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Yes, it is possible that the movement you do when you shake your leg may be counting as steps if you wear it inside your pocket. I think it counts only some movements as steps, only the ones the inner accelerometer will consider as steps.

There are some other ways in which you can wear your One, check this out:

Forms of Wearing a Fitbit One TrackerForms of Wearing a Fitbit One TrackerYou can try any of these, I think that should help you our for sure.

Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy
