Update blocked my fitbit?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just bought a new Fitbit One, as the old one stopped working. Deleted the old device and paired the new. System told me that it needed to update and it would take up to 10 min. After 2 hours it has never finished updating and now my device will not switch on again. It just displays a thin bar, half full. Tried trouble shooting suggestion to reset, but no luck. Any suggestions what I could try? I have written to the customer support, but have not yet heard back. Thanks for any help with this!

1) Restart your device

In your smartphone, with your Bluetooth turned off,
1) Go to your Setting >Application Manager > Fitbit App
2) Clear Cache and Clear Data and Uninstall
3) Reinstall the app, and allow the app to turn on your smartphone's Bluetooth when prompted

In your fitbit app, go to your device, and:
1) Turn ON All-Day Sync
2) Turn OFF Always Connected phone support

Hi WendyB

Thanks so much for your very detailed help. Unfortunately I cannot implement it for two reasons:

1) When I turn my fitbit back on, it always shows the thin bar, half full. It does not allow me to do anything with it.

2) I have the fitbit app on my PC (windows 10) not my phone.

Would you have any further suggestions, please?

Thanks!

Yvonne

Awesome help @WendyB! 😉 Welcome to the Forums. and thanks for your reply @YJK! I checked with Support and I was able to confirm that you have a case with them. The best option at the moment is to continue working with them.

Thanks for getting back o me, Lucy. In the meantime, I had a chance to go back to the place of purchase and they decided to refund me, as they failed to activate the fitbit and had no replacement item. I will now try to purchase one online. Thanks again for your help, and also thanks again to Wendy. Really kind of you to take your valuable time to respond!
