hi all,

can anyone tell me why my fitbit dashboard has a certain number of steps but when i go into a challenge which started today, my steps are almost 1000 more! when i first synced my fitbit, the steps went up then down again? can anyone shed any light on this issue?

@mummy2gracie Thanks for being part of the Fitbit family! That could be happening for several reasons. The first one is that manually logged activities or activities tracked with activity mode does not count towards challenges. So, if you are doing any of that, that is the reason why.

Also, challenges go according to the time zone of the creator. If you are on a different time zone than the creator of the challenge, that may be the reason why you see a difference in steps. Also, activities tracked by third-party apps will not count towards challenges.

Only the steps from the tracker itself or MobileTrack will count towards challenges.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

@mummy2gracie Thanks for your reply. Your Fitbit One will record detailed minute-by-minute data for seven days. After the seven days, the leaderboard's steps will be reset and you will start from zero, causing you to see less steps on the leaderboard than on the ongoing challenges you may have. That may be other reason why you see the difference between steps.

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy
