purchased a fitbit one to replace my old flex.  i bought it from ebay and when it arrived, it will not turn on.  I've got it plugged in to charge and have tried restarting it multiple times but I'm losing hope.  anyone have any tips? the person I bought it from is not returning my emails and ebay is not helping either.  I doubt I have any coverage from fitbit since I didn't buy directly from them but I'm hoping maybe someone knows something I could do or try.  Thanks!!

eBay have certain guarantees if a product is not as described (i.e. working), and I think you should pursue this with them.  Also if you paid by PayPal they aslo have protections.

As for your Fitbit, if it has not been used for some time, it is quite possible that it has become unresponsive, and you should try the restart procedure .  Note that you should first charge the One for a couple of hours, even if it doesn't seem to be taking a charge.  Ideally do this using the One charging cable and a cell phone charger or similar that will accept a USB cable.  If you use your computer, don't forget that in most cases a USB port will not deliver charge unless the computer is awake and active.  Also  you will need to plug into a port connected directly to the motherboard -- i.e. not on a hub.

Once you have given it two hours charge follow the instructions linked to above, but note that if the Fitbit is completely unresponsive, sometimes you need to hold the button for longer than the 10-12 seconds recommended.  It could be up to 20-30 seconds.  If nothing happens, repeat the procedure 2 or 3 times.

If that doesn't make things work, then I would strongly recommend you pursue your case with eBay or PayPal.

Good luck, and keep us posted on how it goes.  Welcome to the Community!

Hello @jensinden, welcome aboard to our Community and I'm sorry to hear your tracker did not work after it arrived. I wonder if the great suggestions from @Julia_G have resolved the issue? I have a close friend who experienced the same inconvenienced and she was able to pursue this case with eBay.

Keep us posted how it goes, I'll be around giving follow up to your post.
