intermittent syncing (fitbit One)

I have a fitbit One and I have intermittent syncing with my PC Windows 8.1.

Most of the time, I have to connect the fitbit One with the charging cable and after doing it, it will sync without direct connection for one or two times then it won't anymore.  Sometimes, I plug with the charging cable but wont sync the next time I ask a sync.

It is really frustrating. I know that the program and computer are OK because it can sync sometimes and I do not need to reset the fitbit to sync. But why is the capacity of syncing is intermittent?  Does the fitbit send its signal every five minutes and you have to be synchronized at a specific time? (If so, how do I know it is time to sync?)Does the "plastic" protector has to be remove every time?  Could it be an interference from a neighbour?

Any idea?

How much cm or inches is "close"?  Because it seems that at 15 cm (6 inches) the sync is working most of the time, but it is not at 60 cm (2 feets).  Maybe my very old monitor was giving some interferences, but I did not need to update to Windows 10.

Thank you very much for your support.

Welcome to the Community @Louise99! Oh! it sounds kinda weird that your One is not constantly syncing. If on your computer you have everything updated, it should be working fine, and there there is no need to have the One plugged into the charging cable to make it sync or remove it from the plastic clip.

Let me ask you something, have you tried to sync with a different device? an iOS or an Android or maybe a Windows phone? If not, I would like you to try and let me know if that works!

I don't have iOS or Android... I tried on the Android of my boyfriend, but it was too complicated (blootooth or something like that) and... well.. it was his Android so... no, I don't have a different device...

...

By the way, I have problem to post you my answer.  The error message is "Authentication failed for the action you are tryting to do. This failure couk be due to your browser not supporting JavaScript, JavaScript not being enabled, or trying to use the action URL directly in the browser address bar instead of clicking the link on the page."  So, because I was able to at least connect twice on the fitbit community, I am not sure the problem is on my side.  Too much traffic on your side maybe?

@Louise99 Thanks for the update! If possible, I recommend updating your PC to Windows 10 and downloading the Fitbit App for Windows 10. This update should provide a much better experience for you and your One. Additional information on the Fitbit app for Windows 10, can be found within this post.

If you are unable to update your PC, I recommend taking a look at the troubleshoots provided within this help article.

I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes. Smiley Happy
