need to manually enter active minutes

Its disappointing that active minutes cant be entered manually. Yes, activities can be manually entered, even a custom activity, but it will only show as an activity, not an active minutes. For example, you could take a 20 minute swim and enter it as a custom activity which is fine. But the recording system has a flaw as these 20 minutes will not be shown as an active minute, which is disappointing. Please, Fitbit products should allow manually adding active minutes, not just activities

Welcome aboard to our community @NReaEssentially active minutes are a measurement of time spent doing activity that is more intense than regular walking. With this in mind I understand your point of view. However as you know the active minutes are archived for a combination of different factors like how many steps you obtain in a short period of time, or your pace of the exercise you are practicing. Since swim is an activity that at the moment can't be recorded as a brisk walk it wont have the same results and your number will be an average of the activity.

Nonetheless despite this is not an immediate solution, in our feature request board there is an idea very popular similar to your feedback. That might fit to your request, so if is of your interest, take a look at this link: Have the Ability To Edit Exercises and share your vote and comments. If this idea is not what you are looking for you can always share your own idea.

See you around and let me know if you need more help.

While I agree with the response, I am having the same problem. I just exercised. My heart rate was above 125 the entire time. I had to manually enter my exercise, which is fine. (I am not sure why I am having to often do this all of a sudden either.) But now, all those active minutes are not showing up, even though my heart rate and steps were in the right zone for it to show up. I wish there was a way to manually enter these minutes as I am sort of obsessive about tracking.

I agree it seems crazy you can’t just add active minutes to a logged exercise. Even when i create a custom exercise you can only add calories but not active minutes. I play football and it wouldn’t be safe for me to wear the watch but i still want to log it as exercise. However logging on the app or dashboard gives me 1 active minute and some calories! You then can change any of the stats. You can’t create an exercise and define the average amount of active minutes you do per hour for that type of activity.

Is there a way to actually reach out to Fitbit. This seems like an easy fix (being able to add active zone minutes manually). We’re able to delete them(not sure why).
