I bought a new fitbit one on ebay.  When I try to charge it nothing appears, should the battery icon show?

Yes the battery Icon should appear showing that's its charging.

 

Try a restart. Do it at least 3 times.

If that doesn't help
you will need to contact the Ebay Seller to exchange it as Ebay is not an Authorized dealer of Fitbit

@lordal28 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! You can try using a different USB port on your computer to charge it or maybe a UL-Certified wall charger. If you know somebody else that owns a Fitbit One try using his/her charging cable just to check if it is working.

 

If nothing, please do what @WendyB kindly suggested to fix this problem.
