I am trying to add a second charge 3 to my account. It gives me the option to "replace your charge 3" but no option to add a second one. Help please

You cannot have 2 of the same device on the same account.
If you explain why you want that, maybe we can come up woth another way to accomplish it.

How were you able to set up the second Fitbit. It only gives me the replace option.

It's been so long, I've forgotten. I didn't use my phone - i did it on my laptop. At the time my phone wasn't compatible so eventually I got a new one. I think I logged off the 1st account & then added the 2nd charge 3. There was a problem using the laptop & that's why I gave up & bought a new phone. It would work for a day or 2 & then crash. I don't know if fitbit has fixed that flaw but give it a try.

I want to have one charge 3 for work (dirty) and one for home and sleeping(clean). This worked well with charge 2 and charge 3 but I can’t sync a second charge 3. I don’t want a second account. I want to tally activity of both every day.

I understand what you want, but unfortunately it cannot be done.
Quoting from Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?
Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit App Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.
The only way it would be possible takes a bit of extra work. Each time you want to switch, you would have to make sure you sync existing watch, then add the other device as a replacement and go through setup again each time.
