Since the last software upgrade, my alarm is now intermittently turning itself off, so it does not always ring to wake me up. Very disappointing as this is a basic watch function, without it Fitbit is of no use to me.

Hi, @Scottmakin100 , welcome to the community, may I suggest How do I manage alarms on my Fitbit device? which will give you the opportunity to double-check your settings.

no this is not useful. My post was quite clear, the alarm is turning itself
off in the middle of the night. If I had to guess I would suggest there is
a bug with the way it handles the transition to a new day, in that is
automatically things the alarm is no longer required. This is a significant
bug in the new software release, was never an issue before and has made me
late for work on more than one occasion.

2022 and I am still having that exact same problem with the charge 5. Any solutions yet?
