My app on my iPhone her Fitbit keeps freezing I can’t touch anything it won’t open it up

It's happened to me twice when tracking exercise and at this moment in time I can't get into any of the app functions, even though it loads and syncs OK with my device.
In my case, what I've noticed is that when I open up the app to end the exercise, it quits. Thereafter, everything is frozen.
First time it happened it sorted itself out, but now, after force quitting the app and restarting my iPhone, it's still frozen.
Anyone?

Looking online, I found a work-around, and that's to log out of the Fitbit app on your phone and sign back in again.
In my case, doing so resulted in the data relating to my tracked exercise being lost.
It's not an elegant solution, but it does appear to work.
