For a few days now aito detect of exercise is not working, so it's not logging it as exercise in the app - active minutes register, but not the activity. Anyone else having this problem?

@Magofa if @HelenaFitbit's advice did not work, then i would

Tap on the activities tile,

Tap the settings

Check that walk is still set to be autodetected for the minimum minutes you want. Maybe change it  by a minute and doing a sync.

It is set to detect walks after 15 minutes. As I said before, since I upgraded it stopped.

@Magofa are your steps being counted properly durring your walk, is your arm swinging naturally?

Have you restarted the tracker.

If it is still not working i would setup your tracker as a replacement device to itself.

Sorry your last post did not mention 15 minutes, which is the default. Many people change this to 10 minutes. My thonking is that if it went back to the default and if your expecting a 10 minute walk to be detected the fix would have  been simple. Are your walks at least15 minutes.

Yes and yes. It just won't automatically record on my iPhone App and if I record it manually, it duplicates itself and isn't accurate.

@Magofa are you saying it shows up in the web activities log?

The auto detect of activities get calculated in the cloud server, not the app.

Im at a loss to explain why manually adding will then show the auto detected walk along with the manual added one, unless the server was busy snd it took a few minutes, and a second refresh, for the walk to show.

It shows up on the web activities log but is not automatically showing up on my phone app as exercise.

Here is a sample of  what I mean. My week starts on Sunday. Yesterday, I walked and it showed 1 of 6 days. Today I walked again, see above, but it does not give me 2 of 6 days. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It's inconsistent.

All of the different events don't work?

I assume that you have restarted the tracker along with rearranging the events on the tracker, this will force a reloading.

Fitbit  is not recognizing my workouts.  How do I fix it? I tried resetting without success.

When is it going to get fixed?

@Animal22 have you checked to see if your workouts are still set for the minimum time you think they are?

Is it just one type of workout not being recognized, or is it every type?

If it us only one type which type is it?

Seems like all types. I did check min time settings, and I def exercise more time than it’s set

It's obvious that Fitbit has a problem with auto regocnition. I have their flagship product icon and it just doesn't work. Tried all the suggested fixes to no avail. Even did a factory reset.

Fitbit fix this, at this point I would have to recommend elsewhere for a fitness watch. No auto recognition is a no go for me.

I updated my App on my iphone last night, the only change I have made and now my auto recognition isn't working 😞  Is this usually an App issue or a device issue (ie fitbit)

Hi Rich_Laue,

I have tried messing with the settings, it didn’t help. I’m hoping it will auto detect will kick in again today, but I went through all the troubleshooting I could find and it didn’t help.

Same here with my new Sense.  It worked for a few days.  Then I  tracked one exercise manually by tapping on the watch workout app.  Since then the automatic detection has failed.

This fault has been going on for years.  It was happening with the Ionic as well.  Spending hours uninstalling apps pairing and unpairing will not solve the problem so please stop suggesting it.

Hopefully Google the new owner can write better code and fix all the bugs that infest the FiBit app.
