Hi just been for a walk and fitbit charge 4 has auto recognised this as an elliptical workout rather than a walk, any ideas?

@GMudie It's possible the way you were swinging your arm, it thought you were doing an elliptical exercise. For the most accurate reading, I would just start a "walk" on the Fitbit itself instead of relying on auto track.

@GMudie I agree with @Heather-S that there was something about your arm movement that made you Fitbit sense it as elliptical. You can change it to walk in your app. If you go to the Exercise details, there is a Categorize Exercise option neat the top. Tap on that and change it to walk. I use auto recognize for almost all of my walks, because the distances are all familiar and I don't feel the need to use the Exercise app. You can also turn the Elliptical option off in the list of auto recognized activities. Tap on your Exercise tile > the Gear icon > Elliptical > Toggle Auto recognize to off.
Fitbit calls this feature SmartTrack. Sometimes it's not as smart as Fitbit thinks it is. A different user folded some laundry and it was recorded as a swim.
