Can you countdown to start an activity, we I run and start the activity on the app on the phone I then need to place the phone in my short rear pocket and put my gloves on, this can take 30-40 seconds, countdown auto start like other apps would allow me to get ready.

It's not possible at the moment but sounds like a good idea.

 

I found the following feature suggestion which is similar and which you might want to vote for. It's a new suggestion but the more votes it gets the more likely it is to catch fitbit's attention:
