Awake reading

Can someone please explain the awake reading? I just read through the description of sleep stages and nothing was said about it.  My Awake reading is usually quite high, yet I am totally unaware of being awake, unless I get up to go to the bathroom.  Last night my Charge 2 registered 88 minutes awake!  At one point it said I was awake for 20 minutes. Certainly I would have some awareness of being "awake" for that long!

Can someone please explain?

My guess is that it means very light or restless sleep. In my case I can correlate the 'awake' times to when my heart rate is above the resting level. It may be also tied with more motion. Awake in this sense does not mean conscious  but more restless and not getting proper sleep.

Thanks. Something to consider. But - I'm not a very restless sleeper and I would understand being restless and in motion for a few minutes, but 20 minutes?!?  Also, dumb question: how do you correlate it to your heart rate? Is there somewhere I can find that?  My heart rate is normally very low.  Sure would like to know how to fix this.  Thanks again.

When you tap on the sleep score tile and then the restoration tile on the phone app, you should see heart rate data and scrolling down will see the oxygen data. The Deep Sleep and REM tile will show the times shown as awake.
