My Fitbit 2 just cracked while it was on my wrist. I had it for just about 9 months. It still charged and worked, so I continued to use. Last week it cracked more and it totally ceased charging. I've been in touch with FITBIT and this is what I was told.
The glass on the Fitbit 2 is not adequate and cracks with heat. In other words, it's a defective product! I could not get a refund and the watch is dead and advised it cannot be fixed.
BEWARE..Fitbit is totally aware of this issue and there are hundreds and hundreds of posts. I will be contacting the BBB of Calif for Fitbit selling a defective device and not offering compensation..other than 25% off a new watch. I had already purchased a Fitbit 3. Very very shoddy operation. You know a product is defective, you admit it is, I cant get it fixed so I basically threw away over $100.00. Shame Shame Shame on Fitbit.

I'm kind of bothered by this situation the more I think about and after reading so many posts about people having similar issues. They could have sent me a message through the app that their product was defective and what to do if mine developed the screen crack.. When mine cracked, it was probably still under warranty, BUT I figured they'd say it was my fault even though I had no memory of doing anything rough to it so I didn't call. But after seeing it was a defect on here I decided to call and see if they'd give me a pretty good deal or replace it. They offered me 25% off a versa or $40% off an Ionic but I just don't know if I want to spend more money with this company. Other than this situation, I rather like the product. I don't buy things that cost this price and expect them to break so soon. I expect them to last at least a couple years. Maybe that was my mistake. Perhaps it's planned obsolescence.
