Biking and Two Fitbits??

OK so I have a Charge 2 HR which I really like (although it has the dreaded cracked screen but still seems to work OK) but recently my GF got me one of those under the desk bikes and I have been pedaling the thing ALL DAY at work (I'm using it now!).  I REALLY like it!  Problem is, the FB doesn't really sense that I am pedaling so while it does record my heart rate going up, it doesn't really give me any activity in my dashboard.  The bike is "dumb" so I don't know how far I've gone or how many calories I've burned or anything I can enter manually.  To remedy this, I got an ankle strap for my FB and it works GREAT EXCEPT.... if I want HR then it has to be against my skin.  Well I am NOT taking my shoes and socks off at work every time I want to pedal my under desk bike.  So....  I have been leaving the FB on UNDER my sock all day.  Now that works GREAT EXCEPT I miss my watch and notifications of calls and texts.  Anyone have a solution for this?  Two Fitbits maybe?  IDK how that would work.  Just figure someone else must have dealt with this at some point.  Looking for advice.  Thanks!

As for calories, Fitbit uses the heart rate.

Fitbits are not suppose to count pedals, these are not steps.

As for how far you traveled? How far did your chair move? Any exercise bike will give you a made up distance since it is hard to measure a virtual distance.

Rich,

Thanks for your reply.  I think maybe you missed the crux of my query.  The chair does not move on a stationary bike BUT a bike with some "intelligence" would know how many rotations I produced and the diameter of the "wheel" and thus be able to calculate a virtual "distance traveled".  I am not expecting the FB to do that.  I would like the FB to count my "activity" when I use the bike (which it is not when it is on my wrist because my hands are basically stationary) as well as my heart rate (which necessitates it being against my skin).  If I place it on my ankle UNDER my sock I get the count of activity AND HR but then I can lose the ability to see incoming calls or texts or check the time using my FB, which I am accustomed to doing.  I was wondering if anyone else had this same dilemma, and, if so, how they possibly solved it.  Thanks.

Normally when on an exercise bike, a user puts their Fitbit into the spinning mode and wears the tracker on the wrist. The heart rate then is used to calculate calories, and the time gets marked as spinning as a activity.

What your saying is that your stationary ride is recording steps instead of a bike ride.
