App on phone works and indicates fitbit fully charged. Screen is all black. Have tried resetting by holding button in for 8 seconds, 30 seconds- nothing. No smiling face but I do feel it pulsate 3 times. Have tried changing clock on app several times- still nothing.

Hi, @Pab12! I have heard in the past that the Charge 3s do have a tendency to have their screens die. This might be the case for yours. I don't know when you purchased it, but given that your Charge is a couple of generations old, I'm guessing it's out of warranty. The only other thing I might suggest is letting it die fully and seeing if a full restart helps, but it's probably a hardware issue.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Pab12. Thank you for mentioning the steps you have followed in order to remove the black screen on your Charge 3.

I would recommend trying the long restart:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Thank you for your advise @MakMak

Please try changing your tracker´s clock face. Follow the instructions of: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

Mine is the same, this is my second charge 3 in 3yrs. I think they just die after 2 yrs. Personally my opinion is they want you to update so their  products don't last much past their warranty.  I will not be replacing mine again. Their customer service isn't very good either
