Calorie count reset to zero?

Hi.

I always remove my Charge 2 before bed, and by chance, when I picked the device up the following morning, the device showed I'd burnt 465 calories.  I checked again this morning, but this time through the iOS app (I hadn't touched the wearable), and this has reported a 234 calorie burn.

Is this correct because an assumption is made concerning calories burnt during sleep?  Or should it be at zero at the start of each day?

My Charge 2 is on the 22.44.12 firmware.

My iOS app is up-to-date.

Other than that, I'm loving the Charge 2, having come from the Charge HR, which I also found to be invaluable.

Thanks in advance.

Those are your BMR calories burned, @SunsetRunner, which are based on your profile setup for age, sex, weight, and height. The BMR calories are the energy your body burns just to operate your body. They are reset to zero at midnight each day, and the ones you see when you wake up in the morning are the ones your body burned while you were sleeping.

Good morning @SunsetRunner if you had been looking at your tracker at midnight you would see that your calories where reset.

Fitbit not only keeps track of any calories that are burnt during exercises but also the calories your body burns just to keep it alive..

Even when not wearing your tracker, it still assumes the user is alive and counts these calories.

Even if she wasn't wearing the watch? I just got mine yesterday and when I woke up this AM ( not wearing it) it said i had already burned 400- something calories. I downloaded the app and put all my stats in last night ( before midnight) , so this is just an ESTIMATE of what I burned?
