Can't enter pairing pin

I'm trying to connect my fitbit charge 3 to my iPhone Xr.  I have the app and i have the fitbit plugged in.  The app is able to find the fitbit and gets to the point where I need to enter the number that was displayed on the screen to pair it.  There is no way I can enter the pin number.

I watched a video online and the person there had a number pad on the bottom of their screen to enter the pin.  I do not.  See the attached screen shot.

 

Please help.

I rebooted the phone and was able to enter the pin number after that.
