Charge 2 Firmware Update

I have a friend who has been waiting for a firmware update for the Charge 2 for a couple of months now. Does anybody know if the Charge 2 will be receiving a firmware update in December along with the other watches? We are hoping this update will fix an issue where texts are not being sent to the watch.
