Charge 2 - GPS mapping accuracy issues.

Hi all,

I've come across some serious issues with the mapping of my walks and runs with connected GPS on a charge 2.

My phone is a One Plus 7T running Android 10 and the Fitbit app is version 3.21. The maps are off, with a lot of jagged lines criss crossing or pointing side to side. Sometimes half the map is missing. I know this isn't a GPS signal issue as using the couch to 5k app on the same runs I get a perfect map afterwards and when you compare it, fitbit's map is rubbish. Metrics such as distance and pace seem okay. My partner has tried it on the exact same runs as me with her charge 2 using connected gps to a One Plus 5T and her maps come out great. I haven't really been able to find a solution on the forums so far. Really hope there is a solution as it's very disappointing as I wanted to map all my walks and runs to compare how I'm doing.

@Latlong Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not recording GPS data correctly using your phone's GPS. Try refreshing the link between your phone and your tracker by following these instructions:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.
