Charge 2 Initial Charge

Hi,

I've just joined the forum as I have just set up my new Charge 2. Seems great so far. I initially bought a Surge but returned it after a few hours as the display brightness was horrible and I was a bit worried about not being able to replace the strap.

i was just wondering how long the first initial Charge should be? The lady in the shop said 24-36 hours which seems a bit excessive.

Thanks

Going by what tech support have just told me, charge it until the battery is full and then keep going for another hour or two.

Ok, thanks. That does sound a more realistic time.

@Smallville2106 My guess is that the initial rapid battery drain that you experienced was likely because of the firmware updates that were available after you setup your Charge 2, firmware updates are usually pretty demanding on batteries in general.

Afterwards, your Charge 2's battery can last up to 5 days. You can also find tips on ways to maximize your Charge 2's battery life by clicking here.

Hope this helps!

How can I tell if my Charge 2 is charging on its initial charge?

It will always vibrate when first plugged in to power.

Without knowing if your tracker is setup, when setup you will see a meter.

I only see where the profile settings are by accident.  When you click on the account icon, you do not get "profile."

Even when I entered some settings, it did not save them and did  not accept any of my sleep and other settings at all.

Normally when first plugging the charge 2 in the screen should light up as the tracker is turned on, a vibration should also be felt.

That short vibration will be the only notice that the tracker is charging. The screen should go dark shortly after it starts charging. If the charging stops the Charge 2 should also vibrate.

To sum up the Charger 2 should stay dark while charging.

Normally shortly after putting the tracker on it's charger I start doing the setup process
