My Charge 2 suddenly stopped working yesterday. The green lights on the back are out, and it won't charge. When I first attach it to the charger, it vibrates once, but nothing else happens.
I tried restarting it multiple times in a row. After pressing the button several seconds, the screen flashes once with a bunch of dashes and goes black again.
I cleaned the prongs and back of the Fitbit.
Full disclosure: My Fitbit is about 2 1/2 years old and had to be charged every day. Sadly, from what I have been ready, these only last about two years. I hope this is not the case.

Let me guess - you updated your Fitbit to the latest firmware in the last 7 days. If so it is known to brick older devices as confirmed in the article below:

You should also see the thread on the firmware update at the top of the page. You might try customer service if the update did brick your device - some customers have gotten out of warranty replacement as Fitbit rolled out a bad update that destroyed the devices. You have to be polite and persistent. Some have threatened to go to the media with the problem and got the replacement.

This is great information!!! Thank you so much! And yes, I did recently run a software update on it. Apple did the same thing to my trusty iPhone 4 several years ago. 😞
