Charge 2 no longer syncing.
Have Macbook Pro, IPad and iPhone.
Will not sync with any.
Re-installed all apps.
No success.
Now MacBook app says cannot connect to internet?!
No firewall.
Bluetooth turned on/off.
Guidelines say do Factory Re-set, but procedure will not work.
Now forums say is no Factory Reset for Charge 2.
Guidelines wrong.
Same sort issues trying to sync with iPad.
But it does see Charge 2.
Bluetooth on/off.
No success.
delete app, reinstall.
Same problem.
iPad off then on.
No success.
Same sort problems with iPhone.
All this takes much hassle and effort.
And Fitbit documentation on Charge 2 is wrong or useless.
Seems only customers have ideas.
Please write a proper procedure that works.
Without a sync cannot even update firmware I think.

Have now deleted all Fitbit from account.
Uninstalled iPad Fitbit app.
Turned off.
Turned on.
Bluetooth off and on.
Added Fitbit app again.
Told it to Setup new Device.
Select Charge 2.
it finds Charge 2.
send pin to charge 2
i enter pin.
tries to connect, says found charge 2.
but just spins.
comes back and needs new pin.
i try again.
enter it.
same.
next time i enter pin and it gives error:
Operation could not be completed Htpp error 403
“Not Working” says try 3 things.
I try all 3, no success.
Fitbit app now frozen. I restart.
Add Charge 2 again.
Same issue.
It sends me 6 sets of pins from phone, i enter all.
Same 403 error.
Problem is with Fititbit.
My iPad can see the Charge 2.
And Charge 2 can partly communicate with iPad because it is sending pins.
No issues with other devices.
Only Fitbit Charge 2.
If could do factory reset on Charge 2 would help.
But programmers forgot to add that.
And is no hard off button.
Not even A soft one.
Tried soft reset.
Tried 4 times.
No success.
My friends have Garmins and Apple fitness trackers.
They work fine.
Maybe Fitbit needs to hire one of their people to fix their trackers?
Am not happy.
It started with trying to buy Large size and No stock.
Asked Fitbit UK and they said no stock, and no idea when Large size would come.
I said can you get one. They said No.
So i made big mistake and bought one from USA.
Should have bought a Garmin.
Has always been a hassle to sync.
Not happy to sync on MacBook, wants mobile device to sync
No will not sync at all.

@WarthogARJ Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community!
I will gladly assist you with this and thank you for troubleshooting this. Could you share where does it says that you need to do a Factory Reset on the Charge 2? Please share the link and screenshot so this can be corrected. Additionally you can find syncing troubleshoots here.
Let me know how it goes.

First of all, I DID read the Charge 2 manual.
And the guide lines about Charge 2 on how to try to fix it not syncing.
No success.
Got a Support chat, and she could not fix the problem either.
Have now sent a support request email, and am on third exchange of things to try.
But why not just have really good list of things to follow to do to fix syncing?
And why NOT have a Factory reset?
It was in Charge.
And in Charge 3.
Not Charge 2....why not?
It seems like taking it out in Charge 2 was an obvious mistake, so it got added back in Charge 3.
I am not sure now how I got to the instructions on how to do a Factory Reset.
I can get to the procedures for the Charge, Charge HR and Charge 3.
And for them, you CAN do a full reset.
Or what is called a "factory" reset.
I was really sure that a link took me to the same procedure for doing a Factory set, as it has for the Charge HR.
But I was trying lots of things BECAUSE the FitBit documentation for solving syncing was indeed not helpful.
So perhaps I looked at the wrong description of doing factory reset.
But it was rapidly obvious it wouldn't work.
And THEN, the forums all suggest that BECAUSE there is no factory reset, to try 3 "soft" resets inroad.
that was no use either.

I still cannot sync my Charge 2.
On ANY device that it used to sync with before:
-Phone 4
-MacBook Pro with built-in Bluetooth, running OSX 10.13.6
- iPap Pro 12.9" with iOS 12.2
They ALL worked before.
And it does not sync on an Android phone (not specifically listed as compatible, but it does run the FitBit app, and I thought I could at least try it. But FAILS to sync as well).
Details:
iPhone 4 with 7.1.2; yes, FitBit says NOW that it will not work, but it DID work when I bought the Charge 2.
All that happened was that after FitBit "upgraded" the FitBit app (badly) and now my iPhone doesn't sync.
That's FitBit's mistake.
MacBook Pro 15": running 10.13.6 with built-in Bluetooth compatible with Bluetooth 4.0 LE.
In other words, it does NOT need the FitBit wireless dongle.
And in fact THAT is why the Charge 2 is not sold WITH a Dongle.
In most modern computers it is not needed in fact.
HOWEVER, when the various troubleshooting guidelines suggested to delete the FitBit app and re-install, it did NOT want to install the LATEST app.
it gave THIS error message: attached.
And now when I try to sync, the MacBook app says it cannot connect to the "internet" which in fact is yet ANOTHER FitBit error, it means BLUETOOTH.
Bluetooth is NOT the "internet".
See attached error messages.
And if I connect to my McBook with the USB, it SOULD syncthat way.
Wy not??H
When I ask FitBit support for older apps that USED to work, they say cannot do that, they don't have them.
But that is another error by FitBit Support, because they ARE Stored by whoever does FitBits app development.
Nobody deletes the old apps who does code development.
iPad Pro 12.9" with iOS 12.2
It does not sync but used to.
I also deleted the App.
And did ALL the FitBit procedures.
After support from online and emails.
- removed Fitbit app and added again
- restarted BlueTooth
- restarted iPad
- reset Charger 2
And YES, in EXACTLY the order they said to try them in.
no success.
See screen shots
Charger 2:
My Charger 2 works fine, it always has.
It just will not sync.
BUT it DOES connect via BlueTooth: I can see it on my iPad.
See screen shot
And it receives a signal to iPad, and knows to create a 4 digit pin.
See screenshot.
But THEN, the App does NOT accept it: gives an error.
See screen shot.
So it is now VERY obvious what is causing the problem.
It is the FitBit app.
It has a bug.
And there isalso an issue with the Charge 2: you cannot do a hard reset, or what is called a Factory Reset.
You CAN in the Charge, and for Charge 3.
Not Charge 2.
I think that is a big part of the problem.
I tried multiple soft resets, but no success.
So Yes, we can go through yet another cycle of trying the same procedures.
And who knows, maybe you have some magical special new one.....
But I would in fact like someone involved who really understands the software problem.
And can help with the bug in the FitBit app.
In effect, my Charge 2 is "stuck": it can only get unstuck if it syncs.
And that's what the problem is.
After various app "upgrades" Fitbit has made it harder for devices to work with it: like my iPhone 4 cannot anymore.
But it USED to be able to.
Like if you COULD do a factory Reset, then it would be EXACTLY like I had a new "virgin" Charge 2.
But some "clever" guy in product development decided not to do that with the Charge 2.
