Charge 2 firmware update

Hi,  I recently bought a Charge 2 from ebay.  I have had a charge 2 for quite some time and the battery on the old one was getting weaker and weaker.  It had to be charged at least every day sometimes more than once.  The new one I setup without too much trouble but it keeps telling me to update the tracker.  The firmware says it is at 22.22.53.4  My old one was at 22.22.58.00  When I update the new one sometimes it will connect and other times it says it didn't work and gives me a try again button.  Even when it connects it finally says update completed and there is a done button.  I click that and it still maintains the 22.22.53.4 firmware.  It never finishes and updates like it should.

I know this is old and no longer supported but it should at least get to whatever the last update was.  I really liked the charge 2 and it performed all the functionality I wanted.  Especially keeping track of steps and sleep and didn't require any kind of monthly subscription.  Is there anything I can do to get this one to update?  If not what watch will get me as close to the charge 2 with that functionality and no subscription fees.

Thanks GMD

Hi @GMD5141 .   The Charge 2 was released in 2016.  Fitbit doesn’t have any specifics on its Legacy Device page.  But I believe Fitbit removed firmware updates for the Charge 2.  There are posts in other model forums, models released the same year, where users can’t get firmware updates.  The first posts about this started showing up over a year ago.  The Alta/Alta HR, Blaze, and Charge 2 were all released about the same time and are affected.
