Charge 2 is syncing but display is blank

I plugged my Charge 2 to charge and it worked for a little in the morning but now screen display is blank, just dark screen.  Green lights flashing like crazy. When plug in to charger I hear a vibration but no display.  The strange thing is it recorded I slept on Wednesday night from 9:12 pm until 5:22 am Thursday, when I was actually wide awake running around the hospital taking care of 2 sick patients. It also documented on my phone app that I slept for an hour and 33 mins on Thursday from 5:19 to 7:02 which could be true as I tried to get some sleep around 5:30 am.  Then it documented I was asleep on Saturday for 7 hours and 4 minutes when it was plugged in and not even on my wrist! Same thing for today it said I slept for 2 hours and 3 mins when it was plugged in to charge!  I have tried to reboot like others have suggested with no results.  Watch display still dark and green dots on back of watch still flashing.  When I let it sit for 30 seconds the lights go out but start flashing as soon as i pick it up. When I press the side button it vibrates briefly but no display.  Please help! BTW my watch is synching on my phone and phone app says the battery is full. Unfortunately, screen on watch is dark, no display at all.

😞

Hey there @Yankeescot, it's nice to see you around the forums! Is your display still blank? If so, I'd recommend restarting your Charge 2 by following these steps:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your Charge 2 will begin charging.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for four seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

If you're still unable to see anything on the display, please let me know if you keep getting the green lights flashing on the bottom of your tracker.

I got your back my friend, don't worry. Keep me posted! Smiley Wink

Hi Maria,

Thanks for replying to my post.  Sorry for the delay reply.  I let my battery empty completely and did what you said.  The same thing happened as before when I tried the same steps.  I held the button on side of the Charge 2 and approx 6 seconds later it vibrated but nothing on the display, just a dark screen.  I then synched it to my phone which it did, still dark screen with no light.  Green lights flashing on back of watch.  Any more suggestions? My phone app shows me that the Charge 2 is fully charged.  I am at my wits end.  😞

Hi Maria,

i realized after reading my last post that I did not tell you that after letting my battery completely go completely empty, I then charged it completely hoping that this would cause the screen to light up when I pressed the side button.  Unfortunately, the screen is still dark.  Green lights flashing on the back of the watch.  When I press and hold the side button it vibrates but screen is still dark.  I will wear the watch today as I haven't worn it since April 9th.  I don't understand how there is a connection between the phone and the watch vibrates when I pressed the side button but no visual display shows up on the watch. On April 10th when my watch was sitting on my dresser it vibrated when my phone alarm went off but no display.  Have you ever hear of an issue like this and found how to fix it?  It is just so weird.

Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Sincerely,

Yankeescot

Dear Marre Fitbit Moderator,          Thanks for replying to my post.  Sorry for the delayed reply.  I let my Charge 2 battery go completely empty and then charged it completely. I followed the steps you sent me.  The same thing happened as before when I tried these same steps.  I held the button on side of the Charge 2 and then about 6 seconds later it vibrated but the watch screen is still completely dark.  I then synched it to my phone, still a dark screen, even though my phone shows the synch was successful.  Green lights flashing on back of watch.  Any more suggestions?
