Charge 2 not counting steps

I just got the Fitbit Chrage 2 HR for my birthday 4 days ago and I absolutely love it! However, my step count if frozen at 13,063 steps and will not count anymore steps (or miles, calories, stairs...etc.). However, it continues to track my heart rate. The Fitbit is halfway charged currently. What do I do?

Update: After several more days of trying the watch I've begun to appreciate its benefits and getting over the fact that it's not perfectly counting my steps; HOWEVER, it began to freeze and wouldn't track any of my steps. Didn't track at least 3,000 steps as I was out exercising with my husband who also has a fitbit charge 2 (and the reason I realized the discrepancy) - and didn't unfreeze until I came home and reset it x 2 via the charger. Sooo, going to replace it and give it one more try. Come on Fitbit - I'm willing to let go of my perfectionist attitude but tracking steps shouldn't be such a hassle! 😞

Same here folks - initially was very excited about my fitbit charge 2 and now after about a week I'm dealing with the device suddenly not tracking my steps at least 20% of the time....sigh...might send it back and consider something else...

I’ve had mine 3 days and today exactly the same thing happened! For no reason. I’ve charged and done multiple resets. But here I am stepping around my house and nothing is registering. Then a lump of 10 steps or so. Then nothing. Not registering stairs either. I miss my Fitbit one. If only they’d make a new version of that. 😞

My battery also drained from 47% to 9% right after a restart, like what happened to BitFix.

2020 and this is still an issue for me.  You think they would have fixed this with a firmware update or something, but restarts and resets never solve this problem.

Freezes up all the time, which is very frustrating when you are trying to get steps and stair goals in.

Pretty much just coming to vent, because they won't actually fix the problem.  I won't buy any fitbit again, even if it means replacing the aria scales i bought for me and the family.
