Charge 2 not displaying heart rate

My heart rate stopped tracking this morning. Has not shown a number since about 8 am today ( now 8:50 pm). I have tried charging it, wiping the back with a lens cloth, turning heart rate off on the app and syncing and then back to auto and sync again. Nothing. I called customer support and had a rude and incompetent individual and eventually gave up on the call. I have never had bad customer support before and have been a Fitbit user for years. I am very frustrated right now. I will have to call again but I am frustrated. Maybe it is time to try a different brand of tracker.

Having the same issue with the heart rate monitor not working.  Just showing the two -- dots.  I've tried the suggested remedies to no avail.  I've had my Charge 2 for about 21 months. Hoping for a solution.

Give it a few days and try again to reboot. Mine has had this issue a
couple times now and eventually it comes back. I can’t wait for Christmas
to get an Apple Watch!!

Hey guys, @Julie2719 and @incantos2000, it is great to see you around more often! If your Charge 2 is showing this "--" instead of your BPM, then I'd like you to tell me, just to confirm, that you have followed all the tips that I previously posted. If so, but the issue persists, let me know, and I will continue assisting you. 😉

Have a nice day!

It never did display HR, battery life got shorter and shorter ..1 day to half dsy to a couple hours, and finslly after a week of trouble, dubious and poor customer service, exasperating all options the Charge 2 died. I took exceptional care of it, wore and cleaned as advised, etc. Pretty shoddy product...not impressed with Fitbit at all currently. Would NOT advise purchasing one to snybody. Incredibly poor customer svc.

No need - I followed the steps and it didn’t work but after a few weeks I
tried it again and it worked. Then I had the same problem and again the
steps failed to correct the problem the first time but after a few days of
trying the steps intermittently it worked. I currently have heart rate
tracking.

My battery was having similar issues so I cut back on everything- no
continuous sync, no notifications of calendar or text items or anything.
That helped a lot. Just limping along until Christmas w hen I get an Apple
Watch! I can’t wait!

Thanks for the quick response.  Yes, I've tried the previously recommended remedies several times (today) and still am only getting the two -- dots.

Don't worry. It'll probably die in a week. I swear the things are made to self destruct. After the warranty period, of course.

Give it a few days before trying again. It’s frustrating to not have it
working but mine started up again eventually.

The top led is not working and my hrm shows “—-“ have tried resetting several times to no avail. Have tried re syncing, nothing doing. I have had my charge 2 for a little over a year. What are my options?

I also think so.

My first fitbit only lasted 18 months, it started to fail syncs and displaying  incorrect heart rates.

My sencond fitbit, charge 2, simmilar issue.

I have done the reset procedure, the sync, the on/off heart rate, it works for a couple of hours and it starts failing again.

Well my charge 2 has died, may he rest in peace. It started to flicker and the screen jumped around and won’t hold a charge.

Mine died entirely too. I'm going to begin looking at other brands. I lived fitbit ease of use, though. 😔 Have heard apple is the way yo go, but the expense blows my mind. Plus i don't really WANT all those extras!

I would not recommend apple if your train for running or other gps related activity.
I have a running mate using the latest apple watch and keeps complaining about heart beat inconsistency or pace misreadings.

I hear good things about Garmin.

My charge 2 stopped reading my hr a few month ago.. i looked up solutions on all possible forums and nothing worked, then randomly it started working again.. been good and quite a while now until last night when it randomly stopped working again.. honestly very happy with the product as I’ve had it for about 20 months or so and it’s been great.. obviously the batter charge doesn’t last as long as it once did.. but that’s how rechargeable batteries work that do have a limited life still lasts a few days tho, not looking forward to having to spend money on another product but if this keeps up obviously I’m going to have to

No heart rate data.  If I tap it it gives me a resting heart rate...always 76 according to device as it is now
Followed directions to plug in and then hold down button...does not work

Directions say that when it is plugged in the battery icon will show AND, it says, it will vibrate
Does not vibrate but battery icon is moving
Repeated this several times...read other suggestions which also don't work
Can anyone recommend a tracking device?

UPDATE on non functioning heart rate function.  Dropped the fitbit and when I pick it up and put it back on my wrist the HR tracker started up again!
