I have no problems charging my Fitbit Charge 2 however, I received it as a gift on 12/25/2018 and just over a year later it only holds a charge for about 5 days even though I am not using any notifications and not tracking any exercise other than my steps. My question is, does anyone else have this problem and what can be done to fix it?

Before I proceed accordingly, I'd like you to visit and follow the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. It contains some steps that you already tried but you can skip them and let me know if the issue persists.
