Charge 2 not recording exercise

My Charge 2 records walks as exercise but not when I work out for 20 minutes on my elliptical machine!  It gives me active minutes and my heart rate is elevated but it doesn’t count it as exercise. This has been going on for about a week now and it’s annoying. I’m sweating and shattered so I know it’s not right!

I know the Charge 2 is old and I’m thinking about getting a Luxe but wonder if it’s worth it. Any advice would be appreciated thanks, Lorraine

Unless you are one of the people determined to rely only on auto-recognition, I suggest using the Exercise App on your wrist to start and end the workout.  That guarantees it will be counted as an exercise session.

Elsewise, I doubt the Luxe would improve your result here.  I would guess more of a back-end Fitbit issue rather than you individual tracker.  Luxe gets lot of praise for it looks, but function-wise it's not clear it's a big step up from your Charge 2, though it might add a few new measurements that have been added since Charge 2.

Hi thanks for the reply I’ve had this thing for a few years and didn’t realise I could do that. I will do this in future

For selecting which exercise options are displayed on the device, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?
