Charge 2 not vibrating when receiving notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 2 has recently stopped recognizing and vibrating when I get a text message or phone call.  It also no longer shows the beginning of the message. The notification it turned On in the settings and on the band.  Missing a lot of messages since i do not always have my phone on me or when I have the phone on silent due to my work.

Hi @Betty-fit  try a restart a few times and see if that does anything for you. Let us know.

Stepping in the U.S.A. since September 2013. Android 14

I have tried the restart a few times and does not work. It appears the app
I use for messaging is no longer compatible with the fitbit notifications
as I did get Messenger from Facebook to vibrate for me but my Android
Messages does not. In the settings the only app it allows me to have notify
me is Hangouts and I do not use that app.

I have the same problem, also with an Android phone. After the previous update it would vibrate and show the sender but not the message. Now it doesn't vibrate at all. I see and have the messages app enabled in the app, but it still doesn't vibrate.

So I guess it's not just me. I'm not liking the new update. I really liked
when the band would vibrate.

Hi @Betty-fit and @Tdfoste. Welcome to the Community Forums. @Odyssey13, I'm glad to see you here and thanks for your great help.

@Betty-fit, thanks for trying the restart process suggested in this thread. @Tdfoste, thank you also for joining this thread and sharing that your Charge 2 is having the same behavior. I understand how you're feeling as the notifications should be working correctly. Since your devices aren't vibrating for notifications, may I know if they vibrate when receiving reminders to move or silent alarms? Also, please provide me with your phone's model. This way I can verify if the Fitbit app has been fully optimized for your phone's model.

In the meantime, please give a try to the following steps:

  1. Remove the Charge 2 from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Force stop the Fitbit app within your phone's settings.
  3. Reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app, tap on the profile's icon > setup a new device.
  5. Select the Charge 2 and follow the onscreen instructions.
  6. Then tap on Notifications to set them up one more time.

I'll be around, let me know the outcome.

I tried all of those things. They don't work. I chatted with a CSR and they
informed me that my phone is no longer compatible. It worked before the
firmware and then the app update! It WAS compatible, but now is not. I have
a Moto G7, for reference. So, everyone out there with this problem, you
have to check, because it appears that Fitbit is rolling out updates that
will suddenly make your phone 'not compatible'! Maybe time to look into
other options...
