I am not receiving any notifications on my charge 2.

A common cause of this is where the Charge 2 is accidentally put into "do not disturb" mode. This is turned on / off by pressing and holding the button on the fitbit. Could this be the issue here?

I'm aware of instances where people tried to push the button as normal but just held it a little too long.

It's a toggle.
If it's off then press and hold to turn it on.
If it's on then press and hold to turn it off.
