Charge 2 step discrepancies

I walk the same route 4 days a week yet my step counts vary from 6900 to 8200.  Any ideas what is going on?

Hi! Welcome to our Fitbit Community @SunsetRunner, let me give you a hand with your Charge 2 step count.

 

Please note that factors such as device placement on dominant or non-dominant wrist and stride length can affect the number of steps recorded. For more information and details, please check our help article: How accurate are Fitbit devices? and take in consideration all the factors that can affect the step count on your device. Also, I recommend you to restart your Charge 2 to refresh its performance.
