Charge 2 stuck on www.fitbit.com/setup

My old Charge2 finally died today and luckily I had a new one in the drawer ready to go. However it’s stuck on the scrolling message “ www.fitbit.com/setup “

I have followed the steps in another thread from MarreFitbit. Done multiple updates and I’m having no luck. The previous one was still sending my steps etc to my app but the screen is dead. So I can’t even relink it now even though I’ve tried I can’t see the code. I can’t afford another one. Help please. I need it for my health.

Hello @Annabellabong and welcome to the Community.  Users starting posting about your issue earlier this year and all the posts involve Fitbits that were released about the same time -- the Charge 2, Blaze, and Alta/Alta HR.  I'm a Fitbit user, not an employee, but I think Fitbit removed software updates for the older devices.

I had a feeling this was going to be the answer. It’s a shame Fitbit can’t keep the software for the older models for a bit longer. As they’re obviously great bits of kit. But sadly they have now lost me as a customer. I’m going to enjoy a summer with no tan lines!

@Annabellabong   I understand your feelings.  I loved my Charge 2.  IMO, it is one of Fitbit's most reliable trackers.  You obviously treated your Charge 2 with TLC.  All rechargeable batteries have a lifespan.  Your Charge 2 lasted longer than average.  FWIW, rechargeable batteries also degrade when they aren't used, even if they were never used.  All Charge 2 batteries are 6-8 years old, very old for a rechargeable battery.  Your battery performance would not have been the same as new, fresh batteries.
