On Christmas Day, my 2.5 year old Charge 2 died and, according to the on-line chat help, is unrecoverable.
Other than it failing to detect my pulse for a 2 week stretch in October, it worked reliably otherwise.
On Christmas Day, I synched it in the late morning with a 60% charge. By dinner time, it was showing the "critically low" battery warning. I plugged it in for less than 5 minutes and it was showing a 30% charge (which did strike me as odd at the time). Within an hour it was completely dead and I haven't been able to revive it, despite performing the plugged-in restart procedure (dozens of times), cleaning the charging contacts, borrowing another charger (to make sure that wasn't it) and charging it with various different USB ports/chargers/direct sockets.
The on-line support person, while polite, had no other suggestions and would only offer me a 25% discount on a replacement. I didn't realize when I first got it that I should be treating it as disposable.
I did a search on these boards for "Charge 2 died" and found pages and pages of different threads posted by users with essentially the same story ("was working fine yesterday, died suddenly today, can't be re-started"). Clearly this is not an isolated problem.
Very disappointed.

@AdvisorK Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community!
Sorry to hear about your unresponsive Charge 2. Support does follow the guidelines listed in the warranty so if your device is outside the warranty period they won't be able to replace it. Still thank you for sharing your feedback.
I'll be around.
