Charge 2 won't charge

I just took my new Fitbit Charge2 out of the box.   Plugged it in to charge and got the empty battery icon as was supposed to happen.  A couple hours later when I checked on its progress it was even more dead.  Of course I've made sure that the charging pegs were lined up, but still no luck.

Have you tried a different source of power such as a wall charger you use for a mobile phone?

Yes...I took it to work with me last night and had it on my work computer
throughout my shift and still nothing. The device now seems to be locked
up...can't get the empty battery icon to go away. Holding button didn't
work, either.

Several. Eventually found out after reading enough blogs that my Charge 2-and other models as well-aren't compatible with the fast chargers that come with cell phones these days. Certain desktop computers are also too fast. The only thing I found that worked (so now we can't get rid of it like we wanted) is my husband's old dinosaur computer from 2010!
