Charge 2 won't hold a charge anymore

Hey all-

I've got a Charge 2...it's my 3rd fitbit in almost 5 years.  I had a Charge, Charge HR, both of which lasted at about 2 years.  This Charge 2, I've loved, however I'm 42 days outside the warranty period and last week the device suddenly stop holding a charge for more than 10-12 hours.  Prior to that it would still hold a charge for at least 3-4 days.  Support offered me a 25% off coupon ($35ish off another Charge 2).  But I'm concerned that my next device is going to do the same thing after a year.  Wanted to get ya'lls feedback and see if anybody else has had trouble?  I'm also disappointed that 25% is all Fitbit would do for a multi-device, multi-year customer, but I guess keeping customer loyalty isn't what it used to be?

Thanks

~Jeff in NC

Thank you for the info. I dont use Apple, but looking at a couple of different options. Nice to hear you are happy with the switch and adjustment has gone well.I am looking at the options through Samsung. I appreciate your insights BekaSent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S8.

This is my third Fitbit product—now have a Charge 2. It simply won’t hold a charge for a day. I have followed all the suggestions that have been posted but to no avail. Extremely frustrated and disappointed. Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thank you.

Same thing happened to me. That was my third Fitbit product. It was also my last.

My very specific support/advice is: Leave Fitbit for good. Invest in a superior quality with better capabilities and a more reliable manufacturer - I now use an Apple Watch and I LOVE it! Samsung makes a good watch and so do others - do some research and read reviews then decide what is in your price range based on the features it provides.

Fitbit looked like it was a good choice but in the end their watches barely last through the warranty period then they try the "coupon come on" trick to suck you back in and take your money again. Do yourself a favour (and earn steps while doing it!) : Run, don't walk, away from such a deliberately deceptive business model!

Good Luck

Same problem, stopped hold charge, then would not charge at all. I switched to Apple Watch Series 4 and love it. Don’t miss my Fitbit at all.

Ditto!

My new Apple Watch (Series 4) is by far my favorite electronic and Apple product - and I love my Apple products.

I like it so much, I bought each of my kids one for a birthday and a graduation gift. I am the hero to them as they love their Apple Watches too.

I DO NOT MISS FITBIT ONE BIT!

Me too. Charge 2 not holding a charge.   I’ve done the troubleshooting and feel I’ll just get the 25% offer if I pursue customer support further. The common theme seems to be the device not working shortly after warranty expiration. I agree with another post, it’s too large of an investment to make every 18 months, even with 25% off.

I have had my charge 2 replaced twice for several problems.....now it wont take a charge at all.......too many problems with this watch.....I used it as a heart monitor after a heart attack.....what a waist of time

Get out while you can mine is just over eighteen months old completely dead and they offered me 25% off and no service at all. It’s my fourth and last one. Jumping ship to Apple model 3 is 200 plus taxes. If they keep this bad costumer service going there won’t be a Fitbit soon! I’m leaving because or poor costumer service!!!

I’m suspicious that they are even suppressing negative comments. Every time I’ve tried to comment negatively am error comes up and tell me to try later!!! Fit Bit Charge 2 wont hold a charge for more then 1 1/2 hours.  Did all the recommended 101, turn off everything.   Unit only a year old, loved it but not spending money every year.

can buy new battery but that comes with all kinds of disclaimers.

Looking at reviews looks like this is common product being sold to public. $$$

Welcome to the bad costumer service regarding the battery problems with Charge 2. I got contacted by costumer service and offered another Charge 2 that I I refused because why would I want a defective product so I opted for the upgrade!! The upgrade was offered at HIGHER PRICE then what was on their website. Very unprofessional of a company that wants to have a good image with costumers.

I received my Fitbit as a gift the Christmas before last   The battery wouldn't hold a charge about 6 months later and Fitbit replaced it free of charge.  So here it is again about 6 months later and the new unit's battery won't hold a charge.  I've looked around the internet and this seems to be a consistent problem. It's hard to comprehend you spend $150 and can only expect the Fitbit to last 6 months.  I would encourage any potential buyers to do their homework by researching the internet before buying one.  I may look to one of their competitors possibly an I Watch even though the cost is substantially more.

I am on my third Fit Bit in as well. I love it when it is working well, but I always seem to run into some unrepairable issue shortly after warranty. This time, my Charge 2 (ironically) won't hold a charge. I put it on the charger overnight and by 10am it is dead. Think I may also need to go another route. The price point isn't really that great if I have to purchase 3 of them. Good luck to you!
