My Charge 3 will no longer connect with my phone when trying to track a walk/run. I click through the exercise options on my tracker, select Walk, then Start, and I get the following error:
Phone not found. Launch Fitbit app.
This happens even when I have the app open on my phone. I have no issues syncing the tracker, but when I track a walk, there is no GPS map appearing in the app. If I swipe up from the Walk exercise option, Use Phone GPS is set to On.
So far, I have:
Restarted both my phone and the tracker
Uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my Android 10 phone
Checked to ensure that the app has full access to the location on my phone all the time, even when the app is not in use
Turned off Wifi
Checked to ensure the battery usage to set to allow the app to run in the background
Unpaired and re-paired the tracker via Bluetooth
It worked with no issues up to Aug 7th, this year. I didn't change any setting on my phone, but I have not been able to fully track any of my walks since. Can you please let me know how to resolve this?

Exactly the same here too. Weird, as it syncs no problem, but refuses to connect for exercise GPS.

Did anyone ever help you fix this ? There was an app update for me on my iPhone 3 days ago and since then I have been having this problem ! I changed nothing except update the app and I’ve done all the trouble shooting checks you said in your above message too. Can someone from fitbit please help ?!

No, I've never received a fix for this and the issue still exists.

I managed to get my Fitbit to work(ish) again by doing the following:
- iPhone settings > Bluetooth > Charge 3 > Forget This Device
- iPhone settings > Privacy > Location Services > Fitbit > Allow Location Access > While Using the App
Then I paired and synced my Fitbit again, and it worked (after a few attempts).
I hope that helps someone else too.

Me too. Disappointing since it is one of the markers of "normal life" during this COVID-19 time to have that connection on my sanity walks. And, as ConnorSy mentions, all other metrics sync, just can't use this feature with my exercise times.
