8/14 Update: We are continuing to roll out the firmware update for Charge 3 and expect more users will see it as available. This is a progressive rollout, and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!
Please use this thread to share your experience updating the firmware once it's received. If you have a different inquiry, please post in a thread with a similar topic or create a new post.
7/23 Update: the firmware update has only rolled out to a small percentage of users, and will roll out further next week. It should be rolling out to everyone soon. Thanks for your patience and interest, we look forward to hearing your feedback on the new firmware.
We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Charge 3 to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Charge 3 can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Charge 3, please review these troubleshooting tips.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CHARGE 3 FIRMWARE UPDATE: ALARMS CLEARED
We moved where you set alarms from the Fitbit app to your wrist! After you update, any alarms set will be cleared and need to set up again on the device.
To make sure you don't miss an important alarm, open the Alarms app on Charge 3 and tap *+ Set up a new alarm*. Tap the checkmark to save and make sure it’s set.

@DaveyReyn- Not sure why you are so excited about an update that will most likely render your C3 useless. To me, that would be the most annoying and disappointing outcome. Are you not reading about what is happening to those that take it?

This is my 25% off out of warranty replacement for a dead Charge 3, & I got the 2 year warranty this time. I almost returned this within 45 day window for a Charge 4 because I want the smart wake & adjustable screen time out (default is too short), but then it was announced coming to the 3. If the update bricks my device I'll just be calling Fitbit & getting it replaced under warranty, being a customer since 2015 I'm very familiar with that process.

My bad, miscalculated.. But anyways my firmware update still hasn't arrived.

I have to give credit where it's due:
I chatted with support online this morning. After a little troubleshooting it was determined to replace it under warranty.
The new one was shipped today.

My charge 3 is still on 1.63.5 and nothing will get it to update. has fitbit stopped pushing even 1.84.5? I think this thread could use an actual update from the company.

Same here. There is nothing you can do. Fitbit is pushing the update to one customer/day 🙂
You might get the update tomorrow, or in a few years.

@CatCommando(tagging because this silly forum doesn't indicate who you are replying to) as has been said many times in this thread 11.84.5 was only for people on one particular programme, not for general release. This one is rolling out slower than average (and you do wonder why) but it does usually take a few weeks.

My Fitbit hasn’t vibrated at all. Not even the side button or when put on to charge since I did the update. I must say I’m not happy at all.

Seriously. This is about a crappy update. In this, the ability to program an alarm for multiple days is poof!!! G. O. N. E. why?!! Who thought that was a good idea?!!!
today my 6:10 alarm went off. However, I need that same alarm EVERY. DAY. In order to use this feature (which was 1 of 3 selling points for the Charge 3 I purchased just over a week ago), I am forced to scroll they 3-4 screens to set the alarm EVERY. DAY.
I’m certain it could be more crappy, but I don’t see how one could accomplish that feat. I hope whoever in development/program reads this and realizes my special wish that every cup of coffee (which I hope is ice cold) drink you have until it’s fixed, spills on you.

How did you actually get to a place where you could directly contact support? Every support link I follow pushes me back to this forum, where my question is sitting unanswered

I don't have a problem with time, but I do with syncing. I hope this update addresses the syncing issue with Galaxy s6 and that it doesn't make it worse.

I anticipated I would have it by now from that message on 7/23, but I suppose "soon" is a subjective term. Unfortunately I have been getting my hopes up & refreshing the app often since a few more people on here have posted they received it...& of course with each disappointing refresh I become more annoyed.
Ditto.

Maybe they're running the update server on a Sinclair ZX80 and it can only handle one user at a time.

Personally and if I had the chance to do it over, I would postpone as long as possible and not apply it. My Charge 3 is now a blinking, vibrating, hot flashing mess. I have to engage fitbit now to see what the next steps are for me to either recover (unlikely) or receive a replacement. You'd think I'd learn from all the iPhone issues I've had since their updates were applied (lost contacts anyone?) to postpone until the next upgrade comes out with the patch to address previous sw deficiency.

Deleting the ability to set alarms from the app on the phone was a real mistake. The charge 3 is now pretty worthless to me. I can't even find the alarms app on the charge3 itself to set the alarms. I will now look elsewhere for a device that allows me to set silent alarms from the phone.
