Charge 3 GPS and Exercise Tracking tips

I don't really have a question but rather a discovery (for me) regarding using GPS tracking. I just started using the Charge 3 and I found that Fitbit was not listed under Location Services. My particulars: iPhone 8+, iOS 1.3. I researched the issue here and completed the recommendations, i.e. reinstalling the Fitbit but nothing worked.

 

Long story short, I found that by pushing the Fitbit Icon opens a menu and one of the selections is, "Track Exercise". After selecting Track Exercise, GPS tracking worked perfectly. Looking back at the list of apps shown under Location Services, low and behold, Fitbit is now listed.

 

Maybe this will help someone. The instructions for Charge 3 make no mention of this.
