Morning everyone, I have recently bought a charge 3 and am puzzled with the GPS. I have to have the Fitbit App open and running in the background for the charge 3 to find my phone (iPhone XR). The location is set to always on my phone, so surely it should connect without the app being open ?
The charge 3 just says “ Phone not Found Launch Fitbit App “
any help would be appreciated.

Hi there, I am a runner and I use the Firbid to track my result 5 days a week.
Hate to say it, but I struggle connecting GPS almost every tiime. The best solution so far is to reboot my phone, sync the spp, then try to hit 'start' on the devide to hopefully connects to GPS. Sometimes, I am at the front door for 15 minutes just for this problem: not to mention that I have to step away from the door because the display is too dim that the light coming from the side windows of the door makes it impossible to read the display ... Yes, it is totally irritating.
Not only that, the error margin of the distance that GPS tracks is so large that all the stats end up unreliable. For my 3.27 mile run, it varies from 3.1 to almost 4 miles. This gap screws up the pace calculation and it affects my cardio score, etc. The only thing I thought I could rely on was 'time', because I push start and push again to finish: but it has managed to mess that up a few times in the last 3 months by adding 5 minutes of 0 energy zone in the muddle of my non-stop run which made my run 5 minutes longer than it was.
So, what I do now is using other app to track my runs besides FITBIT. The other app seems to be way more consistent tracking the distance and pace correctly. For me, FITBIT is solely to see my heart rate and if I ever update the fitness tracker, I'd go for something I can see and give good GPS functions for sure.
