Charge 3 Screen turns on by itself without being touched

My device's screen turns on and vibrates without me pressing the side button. I've tried rebooting and restarting the device but once removed from the charging station the screen does its own thing, turning on by itself every 5 seconds.

Hello @Nick_56, welcome to the community forums! Thank you for the information and for the troubleshooting steps you've followed prior to posting!

I'd like that you please check if your Charge 3 has a Firmware pending update. If so, I'd suggest you to perform the update and I believe this should fix the inconvenience. For a list of instructions about how to update a Fitbit device, please check the following help article:

Hope this helps!

thank you @WilsonFitbit. this helped the problem with the screen, but now the screen wake doesn't work despite being on. Also, all the stats e.g. heart rate, steps, calories etc., are blank despite it being over 24 hours since the update. I have tried a reboot but this hasn't helped.

@Nick_56 Thank you so much for restating your Charge 3!

For the stats not updating, I'd recommend following the steps below:

  1. Remove your Charge 3 from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Restart your Charge 3 one more time.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and set up the connection again. You should receive a message asking you to allow your Fitbit device to pair with your phone. Tap Pair to approve the request. For more information about setup, please check: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps!
