My Fitbit Charge 3 keeps on discharging very fast, Its only 1 month old(bought it in Dec) - Battery lasted 7 days on one charge and now once i have charged it to 100%, it discharges within a few hours.. I restarted the Fitbit, switched off the heart rate monitor and dimmed the screen to see if that helps but unfortunately it does not. Please can anyone advice me on this problem - will I be able to exchange it for a new one since its only 1 month old.

Hi @Rohan88007 Try a Long Restart, but if that doesnt help then please come back here.
CHARGE 3 LONG RESTART
Plug the device into the charging cable. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, hold the button down for 15 seconds. Remove your finger from button. Note: Device won't have a smiley face icon and should be off with a black screen. Remove the device from the charging cable. Plug the device into the charging cable again. The smiley face icon appears on the screen.

Hi there @Rohan88007, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for troubleshooting your Charge 3's battery behavior prior to posting here.
While reading your post I was wondering where you charge your tracker? Have you checked if by any chance the USB port or outlet is faulty? If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub. You can find more detailed information in the help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
Also, I'd like you to review the tips and recommendations provided in the article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
As a friendly reminder, the following are some factors that have an impact on battery life and may cause your battery to drain more quickly:
If you still believe your battery is not lasting as long as expected, we’d like you to do a battery test to see how long your battery lasts after a full charge. Please do the following:
Thanks for your recommendation @NellyG.
Let me know how it goes, I'll be around and glad to further assist you.

Hi @NellyG I have tried the long Restart about 4 times and still the battery is discharging very fast. I have charged the device twice to 100% yesterday and twice did it run down the battery life(24H period). Thank you for the advice and recommendation. I also thought it might be the USB charging port, i have used 3 different ones and the battery life has not improved. I'm going to do a bettery test with all the features disabled for optimal battery life, i'll wear the devices and sinc to the app every hour and see how long the battery lasts.
I'll let you know how long the battery lasted.
Thanks again.
Kind regards.

Hi @MarreFitbit
Thank you for your in detail recommendation. I have tried 3 different charging ports as I also thought it might be the cause, but the battery life did not seem to improve. Yesterday i did switch off the heart rate monitor, switched off the notifications and dimmed the screen in order to see if the battery time will be extended but unfortunately it did nothing.
I wanted to do another battery test today, but When i connected the device to the charger, the screen did not switch on and the device become very HOT, so i removed the device from the charger for safety reasons.
Something is clearly wrong if the device is getting this hot after just about a minute of charging. 😞

First I lost the ability to get text notifications. Now the battery discharges in a few hours. This downhill slide occurring over the last 2 weeks. I love my fitbit but it has lost functionality. Beginning to look at Garmin and Galaxy as an alternative. Sad.

Hi there @Teamhozie, welcome to the Community Forums. I am sorry to hear that you are going through this situation. I appreciate your feedback for the Fitbit Charge 3.
Please note that our main purpose is to avoid negative experiences to our customers, we're always willing to help and provide troubleshooting steps. Then, if the tracker is deemed defective we review eligibility using the one year warranty option.
Additionally, our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy is set into providing as much coverage as we can.
Before considering other options, please try following the suggestions I've provided here.
I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted. 😉

I have done all of those suggestions. No change. It discharges from 100% to dead in about 14 -16 hours.

Hi everyone
I have a Charge 3 which I bought in November 2018, but I am in the UK, so I think the warranty is valid for 2 years? Mine has gone from the battery lasting 6 - 7 days to all of a sudden only lasting 24 hours or less. I have tried EVERYTHING suggested on this page and NOTHING has made any difference. I am totally gutted. Apart from a watch I rely on mine for the Steps and Heart rate monitor as I'm unwell at the moment. I've tried others brands before but none compare to the fitbit. Advice required and thanks in anticipation.

Well, I’ve tried the resets, different charging methods, and it still dies within a matter of hours. I don’t even get a “low battery” notification until I plug it back to charge. It’s been over a year since I bought mine, so no warranty left. Such a bummer as my charge 2 never had a problem, and the charge 3 was really neat for lap swimming.
