Charge 3 blank screen

Please help, I am getting continually frustrated with my Fitbit 3. I have tried many different ways to try and get it to work and all have failed. I have a blank screen and after holding the side button down for 8 seconds the smiley face appears and then quickly disappears.

 

I have tried to change the clock face as suggested but there is no account icon on my app, I have also tried setting up the app on different devices and still cannot see the account icon. Any help help will be gratefully received.
