Hi,

I’m having an issue with my Fitbit charge 3. The Fitbit keeps jumping in and out of the menu as if I’m pressing the button over and over and over. It’s does this whilst wearing and off sitting on a table.

it happened about a week ago, I did a hard reset by holding the button for 15 seconds and the issue disappeared.

the issue came back today and now the button won’t respond and I can’t reset it.

any help would be appreciated. I have a video of it doing it if you’d like me to send it.

kind regards, Josh

Try a restart and clean the screen and button.

I couldn’t press the button, it kept jumping in and out of the menu. I waited for it to drain of battery, then cleaned it and charged it back up. I did a reset when it powered up. The fault then returned after I’d been wearing it for 3 hours at most. Any more advice?

Kind Regards

Hello everyone. @JasonCh Welcome to the community forums.

Thank you for the detailed information and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'd like to let you know that sometimes contact with water can behave as button press. At this time, if you haven't done so, I'll suggest performing a long restart which is different than the basic restart and you can complete the process by following the instructions below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Also, wearing T-shirts with long sleeves can unintentionally press the button.

@JoshuaColes@JasonCh If the inconvenience persists, I recommend contacting our Support Team for further assistance. Note that you can contact them through chat or over the phone and you can click here to get connected.

Hope this helps.
