Why is it that when I go to dismiss my alarms, the side button freezes. When I squeeze it, there is no vibration/click and nothing happens on the display. The side just feels like I'm squeezing metal and nothing happens on screen.
So when I go to dismiss an alarm, I squeeze it, then the quick settings pops up and I can't dismiss it because the button doesn't work. After a while the alarm goes off again and this time I can use the side button to dismiss the alarm and the alarm doesn't go off again or the button freezes up. Is there any known fix to this?

Hi @e94904 That sounds rather annyoing! Try restarting the Charge 3 several times. If that doesnt fix it try a Long Restart. If that doesnt fix it then please come back here.
CHARGE 3 LONG RESTART
Plug the device into the charging cable. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, hold the button down for 15 seconds. Remove your finger from button. Note: Device won't have a smiley face icon and should be off with a black screen. Remove the device from the charging cable. Plug the device into the charging cable again. The smiley face icon appears on the screen.

It's great to see you around @e94904 and @NellyG thanks for the input.
I was able to see here that our friend @NellyG provided some instructions in order to fix this button issue. Was this the answer you were looking for? If it was, I recommend marking the answer given as a solution. By doing this, other users with the same inquiry will be able to find a faster response.
Now, if your inquiry/issue wasn’t resolved, let me know and I will be glad to help you out.

I have this issue as well and my Fitbit seems unable to Long Restart. Additionally, the screen remains black and it does not show the time when I take it off the charger, in fact when I put it on the charger it shows the battery percentage for a moment and goes black. I don't think it's water damage because the thing is supposed to be swimproof, but it might be. I'll check back if the problem doesn't resolve itself soon.
