Hey Guys,
So my wee Fitbit charge 3 constantly exits my workouts itself and I'm not sure why. I select the "weights" option and usually do a mix of weights and cardio, and it will just randomly exit the workout halfway through which is quite frustrating. I thought it was maybe sweat that was effecting it, but that can't be right surely.
Can anyone please advise 🙂

Welcome to the Community Forums @Asim86! Thanks bringing this to my attention. If you haven't done so already, I'd recommend restarting your Charge 3 by following these steps.
Let me know if your Charge 3 keeps crashing during your exercises after this procedure.

I encounter the same problems. Will try your solution also.
On my device the weights exercise sometimes gave this problem. Last week it happened multiple times for walking/hiking exercise. My device crashed and stopped registrating the exercise. After multiple starts it sometimes keeped tracking but most times I needed to start the exercise on my phone.

Welcome on board @IvoAnd! Thanks for also reporting this situation. I was wondering if you tried the recommendations I provided above?
Have you tested your Charge 3 to see if after the restart it still crashes?
I'm looking forward to your reply.

For now it looks like it's working during a quick test. I'll test it for a longer period during my upcoming workouts.

During my current weights workout it crashed twice allready. So rebooting was no solution.

Hello - I am also having this problem even after several reboots of the device. I start a workout and it just exits out randomly even when doing a non-stop cardio/conditioning class. It's very frustrating. Have there been any developments in getting a fix?

Same problem here. Heart rate stops tracking about 5 min into any exercise routine.Understand you looking for a fix, please adivse of progress. I just bought mine 4 days ago and plan to take it back by end of week if no fix. Tracking heart rate a vital part of my exercise routine. As a long time Fitbit user, I'm hoping I'm not forced to make a change.

Hello @ateldridge2, thanks for stopping by! Let me share my personal experience; usually when I've done HIIT I get less heart rate average because I stop every 2 or 5 minutes to change the activity and then the average heart rate is lower. This doesn't mean that the intensity of it is less, but since I'm stopping and not doing the same thing for a longer period the heart rate is changing a lot and at the end that's why I get a lower number.
Remember that the heart rate is measured every five minutes as you can double check on your Dashboard. Because it's an average and not minute by minute data.
You can also try wearing it higher when you're doing a very intense activity and check that your Charge 3 isn't getting loose or getting down on your wrist. You may want to try higher than two fingers as shown on the image.
With high-intensity interval training, P90X, boxing, or other activities where your wrist is moving vigorously and non-rhythmically, the movement may prevent the sensor from finding an accurate heart rate. Similarly, with exercises such as weight lifting or rowing, your wrist muscles may flex in such a way that the band tightens and loosens during exercise. Try relaxing your wrist and staying still briefly (about 10 seconds), after which you should see an accurate heart rate reading. Note that your tracker will still provide accurate calorie burn readings during these types of exercise by analyzing your heart rate trends over the course of the workout.

Sorry, I will give more info. A minute or so into a jog on a treadmill, the heart rate monitor stops working. It flatlines until sometime after i stop exercises.; same number the duration of work out. I believe it stops as soon as Fitbit recognizes I’ve started exercising and begins to track the exercise. It has nothing to do with type of exercise. Does same on elliptical trainer.

My fitbit charge 3 has the same issue. losing half a workout and then coming home to restart it by plugging it in to the wall is hardly a "fix" if it keeps doing the same thing, which mine does.
When plugged in for even a second, mine restarts at once, but like Rip Van Winkle, shows the time that it died until synchronized with the iphone again. Happens a couple times a week.
Called support and they suggested a battery test. But the battery strength is not the issue. Quits randomly at 90 percent battery and when restarted it still is at 80% battery. So I did the test and it quit two more times and the battery is fine. I reported this as case #35576998 but heard no reply.
Disappointing. The Fitbit Charge 3 was a Christmas present, but not very useful if it is going to die randomly a couple times a week.
