Charge 3 deducting steps!!!!!

I've had so many issues with my charge 3 recently,  the latest being that it has started deducting steps!!  This evening I completed over10,200 steps.  Then less than half an hour later that number has reduced to 9,812!!!  I'm so upset... I'm considering finding another make! 
I can only assume that  Fitbit just wants us to pay to upgrade to their latest models. 

Has this happened to anyone else?
