Charge 3, floors climbed started to increase way too much

Hi, after almost a year of no issues, suddenly my Charge 3 started to count way too many floors climbed. Days spent entirely at home in a house with no stairs at all, gives me over 50 floors climbed.

What can suddenly have happened and how to fix?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @djondjoe.

Thank you for the information provided.

Your Fitbit Charge 3 is designed to detect pressure changes based on elevation gain, but other types of pressure changes—such as a gust of wind, a weather change, or opening a door—can occasionally cause your device to register extra floors. You can find information about how your Fitbit Tracker calculates your daily activity in this article.

To negate the extra data, you can manually log a driving activity. For instructions, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".

See you around.

As it pretty much happens every day now, I'm pretty sure it's an error in the device. I'm just wondering if it's been introduced in a firmware update or if the device itself just doesn't work properly anymore. Maybe the pressuresensor doesn't work anymore.

Happens to everyone from what I hear. I kust bought a new fitbit charge 4 and mine does it as well. Sometime I get around 90 stairs when I've maybe claimen 15... apparently it was a firmware? It's been a problemen sinterklaas 2019 I think and it still hasnt been fixed. It sucks cause you wanna keep the steps so the car trick isn't much help and your calories won't be accurate anymore. Did you get any help from the chat?

Nope they were useless as tech support usually is. Reinstall this, reboot that.

However I went back to where I bought it and showed them graphs of stairs climbed from when it worked properly and after it went haywire. An increase of 1000+ stairs climbed per month convinced them and I got me a Charge 4 instead for a very reduced price, which currently works much better.

Glad you got such good customer support! Unfortunately I have the problemen even thou I have got the charge 4 😞

Weird that they won't do anything about it since it's such a known issue and it's been here for a long time as well
